Ms Yolanda Ellis is a violinist/pianist/singer/performer.
She has earned degrees form The University of
Southern Mississippi, Jackson State University, and
credits from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in
Music Education. She now attends The University of
Phoenix online where she is pursuing a Masters in
Curriculum and Instruction. She has majored in Piano
and Violin, with her strongest emphasis on violin. Ms
Ellis studied violin with Dr. Jerrie Cadek Lucktenberg,
of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Clarence Render, and Lesa
Terry amongst other noteworthy music educators. She
studied at Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts (1977
and '78), Cal-State L.A. Saturday Conservatory,
studying with Ellen Bruce, The String Academy of
Wisconsin and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic
Minority Training Program, under the tutelage of Lesa
Terry. Studying traditionally as well as Suzuki and Orff
Schulwerk, Ms Ellis has a qualified knowledge of most
things musical. It is that knowledge and the passion
gained form it that drives her endlessly to work
towards establishing a school of fine arts for students
at risk.
